BLESSED EVENT
Happy December Sun Hills Ladies! We have an announcement - Mike and Vicky have become Grandparents for the first time! On the Monday before Thanksgiving they welcomed twin granddaughters! They are healthy and are doing well. As are the parents and grandparents! Their names are Alice and Grace. Congrats to the Bicker Family!

THE END OF A SEASON
Greetings Sun Hills Ladies!
The 2017 season of Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association in officially in the books! It was the first year of having the 18 hole component to our league. The participation in both components was pretty equal, which is what we were hoping for. Aside from the expected growing pains, we feel it was a success.
We had a wonderful Closing Social this past Wednesday. Ralph prepared a delicious spaghetti dinner. We had some great raffle prizes and a putter and 5 wood were given away in the door prize drawing.
During the business meeting there was lively discussion regarding Club Champion eligibility. In the end, the majority voted to keep the 50% participation to be Champion in tack. However, ALL members can play in the tourney and win prizes.
Zelva Goodrich, our 2 time President, made the decision to not run again for office. It was also determined that, with the addition of new technology, the position of Handicap Chair would be absorbed by the Tournament Chair position.
As a result of these changes the new Board for Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association is:
President: Karen Mitchell
Secretary Treasurer: Judi Tutorow
Tournament Chair: Dodie Roberts
It was suggested that our Spring Opening Social be held in conjunction with an Ice Breaker scramble. The majority of our members were enthusiastic about this idea. So keep an eye on the BLOG for more details. It will be fun to meet all the ladies in our league!

BLIND DRAW - September 27
Hello Sun hills Ladies!
We had enough ladies turn out for our final POD to draw 8 threesomes using 3 different flights. We used the scores shot on the front 9. Thanks to the 24 ladies that came out for our last hurrah!!
Here are how the threesomes came out. If you haven't met the members of your group, I hope you will take the time to meet them at the Closing Social.
Again tanks for a successful 2017 season. Well will begin again in April 2018!

FINAL 2017 POD
Ladies, For the final POD of the 2017 season, we will be playing a 3 or 4 lady BLIND DRAW. This will depend on the number of ladies who participate.
I will pair an A, B, C and D flight player in each group and the scores will be averaged. It will be a net POD. The 9 hole ladies will be playing the FRONT 9, so when I do the pairings only the front 9 will be used.
The weather is supposed to be cool and sunny. Let's have record attendance for this final event. Winners will be announced at the CLOSING SOCIAL so you can meet your "TEAM".
ENJOY!

CLOSING SOCIAL
GREETINGS LADIES! The Closing Social is just around the corner. October 4th to be exact. There will be no cost for members.
This year we are going to have a business meeting along with the normal year end stuff we do. This is to accommodate our ladies who spend their winters down south. We have found that there are a handful of members that miss out on the opportunity to be involved in league changes. We hope this change will eliminate this issue.
If you have friends that don't have access to the blog, please let them know so they can sign-up and get this on their calendars!
The sign up sheets will be out this week and next. Please sign-up soon so we can have an accurate count for dinner! There will be some fun auction item so bring some $$!

Hello Ladies!
We played NUTTS this past week. Only 20 ladies come out to enjoy the day. All but 2 ladies played 9 holes this week. As a result, since it was a NET event, the 18 holers were in one flight and the 1 winner got the money that was payed for that group.
There was some excellent putting displayed on Wednesday. Congrats to you winners!!!

We had a great Club Championship for the first year of having a 9/18 hole league. The participation was great, the weather cooperated and there were no major issues! We want to thank YOU ALL for your support is this year. It is challenging to put together an event like this for the first time; trying to be fair and fun while adhering to our by-laws. From all of your comments, we think we are on the right track.
Congrats Tracy and Debbie! You showed us remarkable golf and we are proud to have you as our 2017 Champions! To all the participants, you came out and competed and made the day enjoyable. CONGRATULATIONS all the league!

LOW NET - August 2, 2017
Hello Sun Hills Ladies!
This was the first week of our new 18 hole Club Championship. We will be having a respectable 16 lady field this year. Thanks to all who are participating. Along with this event we had a LOW NET Play of the Day for everyone to participate in. Unfortunately, only 13 other ladies played giving us a total field of 29. We appreciate everyone who came out to support Sun Hills Ladies!!

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP & LEAGUE PLAY
Well, Club Championship time has arrived! This coming week, August 2nd is the first week of the 18 hole championship. Ladies who play 18 holes will just play with whoever you choose on that day. We will take those scores and use them to pair you for week 2.
There will be a normal POD on the 2nd, so everyone please come out and play as usual. We will be playing LOW NET.
On week 2, August 9th, we will have a 2:00 pm shotgun start for the entire league. All of us will be playing 18 holes. The 9 hole Championship will be played as we always have in the past. The 18 hole Championship will be playing in assigned groups.
IF ANY 18 HOLE LADIES AREN'T ABLE TO PLAY AUGUST 9th, PLEASE COME PLAY ON AUGUST 2nd. IT WILL BE TREATED AS A REGULAR WEEKLY PLAY!

The sign-up sheets for the Club Championships will be out this week. There will be a sheet for the 9 hole Championship and one for the 18 hole Championship. Your names are on the sheets, so you just need to check yes or no.
Please sign up by July 26.
The 18 hole Championship begins on August 2. You will make your own tee-times. You can play with any league member you wish. There will be pre-printed cards provided for you when you check in.
August 9 there will be a shotgun start at 2:00 to finish the Championship. The 18 hole Championship will conclude with participants being paired according to how they played the prior week.
The 9 hole Championship will be paired by player request.
After the Championship, please stay and enjoy dinner while the cards are tallied winners posted.
REMEMBER: Even if you didn't play enough weeks to be eligible be be one of our Champions, you can still play in the tournament and compete for prizes. Your dues are helping to pay for this tournament, so don't be left out!

Since we are having regular play this week due to the B & B cancellation, we thought that we would do the POD we missed due to our one cancellation. We were rained out on May 17 when we were scheduled to play LOW PUTTS. So tune up the flat sticks...and come ready to putt lights out!!

Hello Sun Hills Ladies! We had a nice toasty round of Beat or Tie the Pro this week. We had 31 ladies come out and play. However, the majority just stuck to the 9 and out route. We take our sweaty visors off to all who played. Mike shot a 35 back and a total 74. Thanks to Mike for all you do for our league and Sun Hills!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST CANCELLED!
Due to lack of participation, Beauty & the Beast has been CANCELLED!
It seems that as years have passed, the popularity of B & B as well as Member/Guest has waned. A couple of years ago, we tried putting a different spin on B & B, but it didn't bring more participation. So, we are going to put these types of events in "storage" for awhile.
We will be having normal golf on July 19th. Format hasn't been determined yet. So remember to book your tee times for the 19th.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
The Club Championship will be here before you know it! Judi has compiled the rounds each of us has played and emailed those of us who are on the bubble.
With our new 9/18 formats, here is a reminder of how we will be playing the Championship.
Ladies who signed up for 9 Holes at the beginning of the year will be playing the normal 18 hole shotgun at 2:00 on the 2nd Wednesday of August. We will try to honor pairing requests as best we can.
Ladies who signed up for 18 Holes will be playing 36 holes. The first 18 will be played on the FIRST Wednesday in August. You can play with any league member you choose. Your 2nd round will be played as a shotgun on the 2nd Wednesday of August. On the 2nd day, you will be paired according to how you played the first week.
There will be some of you who may not have been able to get your required 50% (8) rounds played. You CAN STILL play in the CC tournament and win prizes. The only difference will be that you won't be able to be the 9 or 18 hole champion.
The prizes are coming from your dues, so please come out and play!

Wow! The steamy weather sure cooked up some great putting for Chicago Putts! There were only 28 ladies with the stamina to play in the sauna. I say they all get a big thumbs up for their efforts. Here are the winners! Congrats!

Hello Sun Hills Ladies!
We had a nice turn out of 38 players this week to see what kind of TROUBLE we could get ourselves into. Most of us managed to find some kind of trouble out there...is it in our nature!?! We did have 2 ladies who managed to stay out of trouble...way to go Debbie Pope and Shirley Schroeder! They both cashed, too!

ACES WILD - June 7, 2017
Greetings Sun Hills Ladies!
Wow! What a difference a week makes! We went from 40 participants last week to 30 this week! We thank all of you who braved the heat to come and play. We had some darn good putting with the ACES WILD Pod.
It was a bugger flighting and calculating payouts this week. If anyone has questions about how I figured it out, I'll try to explain. I used mostly percentages so everyone would have a fair chance. And with no further ado...congrats to the ACES!

N.O.S.E. - May 31, 2017
Greetings Sun Hills Ladies!
We made it through May with only one official rain out! And in celebration of the end end of May, we finally had 40 ladies play! I was wondering if we'd ever hit that magic mark. Now that we have, I hope we can keep our numbers up.
With the 40 ladies playing N.O.S.E. this week, we had 20 in the 9 hole group and 20 in the 18 hole group. This was an accountants dream! Here are the winners. Congrats!

May 17 League Play
Ladies, Since the weather forecast for tomorrow has not changed, we are cancelling league play. Although there will be no Play of the Day, you can still play golf if there is a break in the storm, or if it gets here late.
