CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP & LEAGUE PLAY

Hello Sun Hills Ladies!

Well, Club Championship time has arrived!  This coming week, August 2nd is the first week of the 18 hole championship.  Ladies who play 18 holes will just play with whoever you choose on that day.  We will take those scores and use them to pair you for week 2.

There will be a normal POD on the 2nd, so everyone please come out and play as usual.  We will be playing LOW NET.

On week 2, August 9th, we will have a 2:00 pm shotgun start for the entire league.  All of us will be playing 18 holes.  The 9 hole Championship will be played as we always have in the past.  The 18 hole Championship will be playing in assigned groups.

IF ANY 18 HOLE LADIES AREN'T ABLE TO PLAY AUGUST 9th, PLEASE COME PLAY ON AUGUST 2nd.  IT WILL BE TREATED AS A REGULAR WEEKLY PLAY! 

GUTTS - July 26, 2017

Greetings Ladies!  Somewhat due to the heat and also the horrible back up on our roads we only had 25 ladies come out and play their GUTTS out this week.  However, there was some mighty gutzy putting by those who did.  Thanks to all who came out and supported the league.  Congrats to the winners!

 

LOW PUTTS - July 19, 2017

Greetings Ladies!  We'd like to thank all 31 of you who came out to support the league in this sweltering heat.  And for bringing your A Putting Game.   WOW!  There was some great putting!  Congrats to the winners!!!

2017 Club Championship

Greetings Ladies!

The sign-up sheets for the Club Championships will be out this week.  There will be a sheet for the 9 hole Championship and one for the 18 hole Championship.  Your names are on the sheets, so you just need to check yes or no.

Please sign up by July 26.

The 18 hole Championship begins on August 2.  You will make your own tee-times.  You can play with any league member you wish.  There will be pre-printed cards provided for you when you check in.

August 9 there will be a shotgun start at 2:00 to finish the Championship.  The 18 hole Championship will conclude with participants being paired according to how they played the prior week.

The 9 hole Championship will be paired by player request.

After the Championship, please stay and enjoy dinner while the cards are tallied winners posted.

REMEMBER:  Even if you didn't play enough weeks to be eligible be be one of our Champions, you can still play in the tournament and compete for prizes.  Your dues are helping to pay for this tournament, so don't be left out!

JULY 19 PLAY OF THE DAY

Greetings Ladies!

Since we are having regular play this week due to the B & B cancellation, we thought that we would do the POD we missed due to our one cancellation.  We were rained out on May 17 when we were scheduled to play LOW PUTTS.  So tune up the flat sticks...and come ready to putt lights out!!

BEAT OR TIE THE PRO - July 12, 2017

Hello Sun Hills Ladies!  We had a nice toasty round of Beat or Tie the Pro this week.  We had 31 ladies come out and play.  However, the majority just stuck to the 9 and out route.  We take our sweaty visors off to all who played.  Mike shot a 35 back and a total 74.  Thanks to Mike for all you do for our league and Sun Hills!

Here are the toasty winners.  We just split the purse evenly between the 11 winners!  Congrats!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST CANCELLED!

Due to lack of participation, Beauty & the Beast has been CANCELLED!

It seems that as years have passed, the popularity of B & B as well as Member/Guest has waned.  A couple of years ago, we tried putting a different spin on B & B, but it didn't bring more participation.  So, we are going to put these types of events in "storage" for awhile.

We will be having normal golf on July 19th.  Format hasn't been determined yet.  So remember to book your tee times for the 19th.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

The Club Championship will be here before you know it!  Judi has compiled the rounds each of us has played and emailed those of us who are on the bubble.

With our new 9/18 formats, here is a reminder of how we will be playing the Championship.

Ladies who signed up for 9 Holes at the beginning of the year will be playing the normal 18 hole shotgun at 2:00 on the 2nd Wednesday of August.  We will try to honor pairing requests as best we can.

Ladies who signed up for 18 Holes will be playing 36 holes.  The first 18 will be played on the FIRST Wednesday in August.  You can play with any league member you choose.  Your 2nd round will be played as a shotgun on the 2nd Wednesday of August.  On the 2nd day, you will be paired according to how you played the first week.

There will be some of you who may not have been able to get your required 50% (8) rounds played.  You CAN STILL play in the CC tournament and win prizes.  The only difference will be that you won't be able to be the 9 or 18 hole champion.

The prizes are coming from your dues, so please come out and play!

CHICAGO PUTTS - July 5, 2017

Greetings Ladies!

Wow!  The steamy weather sure cooked up some great putting for Chicago Putts!  There were only 28 ladies with the stamina to play in the sauna.  I say they all get a big thumbs up for their efforts.  Here are the winners!  Congrats!
