Hi there Ladies! With the
snow on the ground outside, it’s hard to believe that golf season is just
around the corner, but before you know it we’ll be out there enjoying our
favorite sport! I can hardly wait! Mark
your calendars now, because our opening social/ice breaker fun scramble will be
on Wednesday, April 6th and regular league play will begin the next
week. Remember that you are responsible
for making your own tee times each week..
This year’s league registration form is attached to this
email. Please fill it out and get it to
me no later than March 31st.
If you have any golfing friends or know of anyone who would like to join
our awesome league, please forward the info to them as well! A copy of our Plays of the Days for this
season is also attached.
Good news – The Ringer Book is
back!! It cost an additional $5.00 for
anyone who wants to join that competition. You can either pay your $5 the first
day you play league, or new this year, you can add it to your registration dues
and send it in with them. For those of
you who have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s a quick rundown on what the
ringer competition is all about:
The
Ringers competition is a fun little challenge that lasts all season. It allows players to better their own score
on each hole over the season. At the end
of the season, all of your best scores for each hole are calculated to give one
18-hole score. The more rounds you play,
the better chance you have to improve your hole by hole score and your final
Ringer’s score. Each player will be
responsible for keeping track of their own ringer scores in the ringer book
that will be available on the Ladies Association table.
Special
Notes:
*Just a reminder .... All members of the Sun Hills Ladies Golf
Association must have an active 18-hole UGA handicap. -NO EXCEPTIONS-
Handicaps must be established no later than May 31, 2022.
*We will again be having our closest to the hole contests each
week. Please make sure that you each have a
measuring tape in your bag, so you can use it to measure your distance to the
hole.
*A new POD (Play of the Day) schedule will be posted to the blog
and put up at the course. (I've also
attached a copy to this email) There
will also be a sign put up at the check in desk, reminding you of the specific
play of the day for that day.
*At the closing social we voted that we would no longer have to
fill out the little POD sheets each week.
Please just put your signed scorecard in the container on the Ladies
table after your round and I’ll take care of the rest.
* The play of the day fee is $4 per week again this year.
*
Just a reminder, the following rule was approved by the league last year: Tuesday is designated as an optional day to
play for the league. We would still
prefer you to play on Wednesday, if at all possible, but the new option means
that if you cannot play on Wednesday of a specific week, for any reason, you
can play the Tuesday before and it will still count as league
play. (You still need to pay the $4 POD
fee). However, those who play on Tuesday will not get a chance to play
for closest to the hole that week. You will need to make your own tee
time and you must play with another member of the league.
*Mike
wanted me to let you know that Sun Hills has raised their rates across the
board by $1 per nine holes. The punch passes are still by far the best deal.
